Our goal
When I return to my hometown of Rutland, Vermont, it's impossible to ignore the impact the opioid epidemic has had on the lives of my friends and neighbors. Identified as the epicenter of Vermont's opioid crisis, Rutland continues to be hard hit, as opioid and fentanyl-related deaths in Vermont have steadily increased. And the crisis touches every aspect of our community, from the loss of loved ones, to increases in crime, and homelessness. In my hometown, nearly 1/3 of all students are classified as economically disadvantaged and less than half of all graduates attend a four year college.
This scholarship is intended to provide opportunities for students impacted by this crisis to go to college and then give back to our community. Any support you can provide is appreciated and will go a long way.
