The Valorena Fund drives Valorena Publishing's mission to create inclusive, empowering children's literature as well as opportunities—such as scholarships—that promote literacy and celebrate diversity. Believing education and reading are fundamental rights, our work promotes a diverse literary landscape while supporting cultural, socio-emotional, and life skills development. We strive to ensure all young readers, from anywhere in the world, see themselves in stories, inspiring a lifelong love of learning and appreciation for their literate lives. Founded in 2013 by Dr. Valerie Williams-Sanchez, with a Ph.D. in literacy, Valorena Publishing champions multicultural literature and empowerment through its self-published Cocoa Kids Collection® and advocacy for diverse narratives.
