Tony Scherer Lower Flint Memorial Scholarship Fund

This fund will be used to create a scholarship honoring the life and memory of Anthony Scherer. Anthony "Tony" Scherer, a 1989 graduate of the University of Chicago and a three year resident of Lower Flint, was an amazing individual who always was willing to help his family and friends. This award is our way of giving back to him by helping a fellow University of Chicago student. The Tony Scherer Lower Flint Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a University of Chicago student who is preferably a resident of Flint House. We are looking for a student who is well regarded by his or her peers, works hard in school, is involved in at least one extra-curricular activity, and has some financial need. For its inaugural year, the scholarship will be awarded on the anniversary of Tony's passing, July 3rd.
