James Turner Second Chance Scholarship Fund

1NDY has been fighting student debt since February 2022, honoring the memory of James Turner through this fund. James was an Indiana native, a loving son and a protective brother. He was a curious person who tried a lot of things and excelled at what he was most passionate about. Unfortunately, as a teenager, James developed and subsequently battled a long-term addiction to opioids. His life was cut short tragically at the age of 32, following an overdose. Drug addiction and its effects are felt in every community by countless families. This fund seeks to spread awareness for drug addiction by supporting students who have experienced drug problems in the past but have worked to overcome them.
