Our story

In 2020, Jake Thomas Williams died by suicide. His life was too short. To help others like Jake, the Williams Family will support students who want to make an impact in the mental health field. Mental health services and suicide prevention are vital fields that can save thousands of lives every year. Therefore, it is important to have effective mental health workers who can provide these crucial services. Jake's family seeks to honor him by encouraging the fields of mental health assistance and suicide prevention.

Our goal

This scholarship fund will honor Jake Thomas Williams’ life by supporting students who want to make a difference in mental health and suicide prevention.

I lost a loved one to suicide, and before that I always knew I wanted to go into mental health. I have also done lots of research on the dangers of the stigma surrounding men's mental health and suicide rates, as I have experienced firsthand what it has done to my dad. While I cannot apply for the scholarship, I still wanted to make a contribution and share my love, support, and gratitude towards this fund so it may reach as many passionate souls as possible.
