Our story
Monica Edwards has been helping eliminate student debt with Bold.org since March 2021. Her fund is in honor of her mother, Melinda Edwards-Jackson, who was a truly beautiful soul. After becoming a single mother at the age of 18, Melinda earned her nursing degree after only three years. During her work as a nurse, she treated everyone equally and had a warm and kind spirit. Monica honors her mother's legacy by encouraging the next generation of African American students who are pursuing a career in nursing.
