Our story

Steve had been an Architect for 20 years and was ready to make a lifestyle change. He was ready to live a more congruent life. After 10 years of being on a recovery healing journey, Steve decided to step out courageously and in faith follow his heart in helping others with their own healing path. At the age of 44, Steve, his wife and 3 yr. old daughter packed up their things, leaving dear friends in California and moved to Austin, Texas. Why Texas? The signs were many and God was very clear. The move provided Steve the opportunity to attend Texas State and within 5 years of graduating, Steve became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), a Professional Counselor ( LPC) and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Steve was passionate about Neuroscience, the body and healing trauma. Steve had begun training and integrating his faith with Interpersonal Neurobiology. The study of Neuroscience and Somatic Experiencing was transformative for Steve and the clients he worked with.

Our goal

This scholarship fund will further my husband's legacy by creating scholarships that help support students who make a career change in their late 35+ to counseling in the state of Texas.
