Quality in education is important across all levels, even before college. A student's high school portfolio has a major impact on their future opportunities, and being in debt so early in their educational career because of fees is an easy way to restrict them. We believe it is a right for students to be able to access essential aspects of a quality education, such as extracurriculars, sports, and advanced classes, without having to fear the consequences of the resulting fees, such as a withheld diploma. The success of this small-scale scholarship will be the catalyst for broadening our scope for a wider impact in future cycles. The ideal outcome is to increase inclusivity across campus by making quality education accessible. By awarding 2 students with the necessary funds to free them from high school debt, we impact their education in the long term and even out early-life disparities.
