The Sleep Deez Legacy Fund was created in honor of Deryk “Sleep Deez” Mitchell, a Grammy-nominated producer whose work has quietly shaped the sound of modern music. From creating timeless records to mentoring rising artists, Sleep has dedicated his career to amplifying creativity, authenticity, and community. Now, we want to extend that impact even further. As members of his team, we are launching this fund as a surprise initiative to celebrate his influence and provide a foundation for him to continue growing in the future. The Sleep Deez Legacy Fund will support emerging creators in music, film, and art, the three creative pillars that have always defined Sleep’s world. Our goal is to help young visionaries find their voice, their purpose, and their power through creativity. We plan to award our first scholarship on November 13, a date that holds personal meaning for our team and symbolizes new beginnings. Each recipient will be asked to share an essay about how music, film, or art has shaped their life, along with a piece of their work, such as a beat, short film, or original artwork. We want to give creators a platform to be seen and heard, not just graded on paper. This fund is more than financial support. It is a movement to honor creative integrity and mentorship. We believe that every young artist deserves the chance to be recognized for their talent and their story, regardless of their background.
