Shaw Foundation Academic Scholarship Fund

I created the Shaw Foundation Academic Scholarship Award to provide need-based and merit-based financial support to African American students in the Metro Atlanta area who are committed to pursuing higher education and building meaningful futures. I believe deeply that education is one of the most powerful pathways to opportunity, yet far too many talented students face financial barriers that limit their ability to continue their academic journey. This scholarship was created to help ease those burdens—so students can focus on learning, growing, and preparing for the future they envision for themselves. The Shaw Foundation Academic Scholarship Award is designed to recognize students who demonstrate: Academic promise and dedication Resilience in the face of challenges A strong desire to pursue post-secondary or advanced education A commitment to personal growth and community impact This award is not only about academic achievement—it is about effort, perseverance, and potential. By offering financial assistance alongside encouragement and belief, this scholarship seeks to empower students to remain confident in their abilities and steadfast in their goals.
