Our goal

Sharon Oshatz was a remarkable woman known for her generous heart and her unwavering ability to uplift and support everyone she met. Her life was defined by compassion, service, and a deep commitment to helping others. Sharon proudly served as a paramedic and as an active EMT with the Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad, where she first met First Aid & CPR, LLC owner Steve Ross. What began as a shared passion for emergency care grew into years of teaching side by side, forming not only a professional partnership but a lasting friendship. She went on to teach CPR, First Aid, and EMT courses, sharing far more than just knowledge. Sharon brought warmth, patience, and genuine care into every class she taught. She had a unique ability to connect with her students, ensuring they left feeling confident, capable, and ready to step in during life’s most critical moments. Through her teaching and service, Sharon impacted thousands of lives—many of whom have gone on to save others because of the skills and confidence she instilled in them. Outside of her service, Sharon was deeply devoted to her family. She loved animals, especially her dog, and was a cherished sister and aunt. Her kindness extended far beyond her professional life—it was simply who she was. This scholarship was established to honor Sharon Oshatz’s legacy by supporting the next generation of emergency service professionals who share her passion for helping others. Her impact lives on in every life saved by those she helped train, and in every person inspired by her example. This scholarship is open to high school seniors pursuing careers as EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, or law enforcement officers. Through this opportunity, we hope to carry forward Sharon’s spirit of service, compassion, and dedication to making a difference.
