Sceffers and Anner Ward Creative Writing/Community Service Scholarship Fund

The arts often don’t get the recognition or funding that they deserve, despite the critical role they play in public welfare. From the cultural value of artistic performances to the knowledge imparted by museums to the simple enjoyment that comes from experiencing the beauty that artistic pursuits can add to daily life, there are many benefits of art. Poetry and creative writing are particularly useful forms of art, connecting people across time, space, and cultures through shared stories and emotions. This scholarship fund seeks to support creative students who are pursuing higher education in an effort to uplift the arts.
