Our story

The Rick Levin Memorial Scholarship Fund will raise money in honor of RICK LEVIN, a much respected and beloved teacher, mentor and friend. Rick's influence on everyone he came in contact with is impossible to overestimate. During his thirty years of teaching at Guilford (Connecticut) High School, his tireless efforts on behalf of his students resulted in countless success stories. Rick's spirit was unyielding as he blazed a trail in public education that modeled acceptance, humility, tirelessness, kindness, and generosity as he nurtured the academic and emotional success of his students. Rick's modesty, unlimited patience, generosity and kindness were so greatly appreciated by his students, colleagues, friends, neighbors, and family, in fact, all who knew him. Rick died in 2020 following a valiant battle with leukemia. He was 70.

Our goal

This fund will support a scholarship for a high school senior who has participated in a Special Education program and despite having experienced academic or emotional struggle during their high school career, will graduate and attend a college or training program.
