Our story

Rev. Arthur H. Boyd was a visionary pastor, community advocate, and servant leader whose work transformed lives across Buffalo, NY. A graduate of Hampton University and Colgate Rochester Divinity School, he dedicated his life to ministry and to uplifting those facing hardship. He founded GROUP Ministries to support individuals battling HIV/AIDS and addiction, and later led Second Chance Ministries for 27 years, offering hope, healing, and spiritual renewal. Rev. Boyd served in multiple pastoral roles, built innovative outreach programs, and earned numerous awards for his tireless community service. Known for his compassion, bold leadership, and commitment to helping people reach their God‑given potential, Rev. Boyd’s legacy continues to inspire all who were touched by his ministry.

Our goal

The Rev. Arthur H. Boyd Legacy Scholarship Fund is dedicated to supporting and uplifting future faith leaders who embody the spirit of service, compassion, and community transformation. Rooted in Rev. Boyd’s lifelong commitment to ministry and his academic journey through Hampton University and Colgate Rochester Divinity School, this fund provides financial assistance to students pursuing theological education at accredited seminaries and divinity schools. Its mission is to empower emerging ministers to answer their call, strengthen their communities, and carry forward Rev. Boyd’s legacy of visionary leadership and unwavering devotion to God’s people.
