Our story
My mother, Paula Cochran Collie, was a lifelong educator with a passion for helping students. She taught 6th grade language arts for many years at Brosville Elementary School in Danville, Virginia. Later she became a resource teacher with the Pittsylvania County Public Schools Gifted Program. Upon retirement, she served as an adjunct professor at Averett University. She wanted every child to receive a quality public education and mentored many new teachers. She would be so happy that a scholarship is being offered in her name to help students pursue a career in education.
