Our story

Paul Sullivan was a loving, kind, generous man who valued his family and friends above all else. Paul was a regular spectator, coach and superfan of his children and grandchildren. Paul would get on the court with anyone who wanted to play, regardless of age or level. His love for the game was unmatched and he was regularly seen sitting next to a tennis court watching a match, a practice, or just having a friendly chat with whomever was playing that day. Paul brought levity and support to whomever he was watching, and always had a great tennis tip to offer. Paul's dedication to the sport spanned all ages. He created an annual Senior Tennis Event to bring senior players together with younger players to show them the longevity of the sport and to encourage friendships across generations. Paul was forward thinking and entrepreneurial, inventing the first aluminum tennis racquet and creating his own sportswear line.

Our goal

The Paul Sullivan Memorial Scholarship is being formed in honor of our father, Paul Sullivan, an avid tennis player and lifelong resident of Massachusetts. Paul was ranked #1 in New England as a junior and competed professionally for over 20 years, facing tennis legends like Don Budge, Bjorn Borg, and Arthur Ashe. He claimed five U.S. National Championships partnered with iconic champions such as Billie Jean King and Patti Hogan. Off the tennis court, Paul Sullivan's true legacy lies in his kindness, faith and generosity. He was a regular volunteer at the St. Mary's After School Program and found endless ways to support those in need. Our vision for this fund is to carry on our father's legacy by supporting passionate, tennis loving students from New England as they pursue their goals towards higher education.
