Our story
Born on June 5, 1933, in the small Texas town of Nineveh, Doris Marie (Whitfield) Glover was the sixth of eleven children born to Mark and Fannie Mae (Stell) Whitfield.
Her educational foundation was laid at Dunbar High School in Oakwood, TX, a place that held such significance that she returned to it for her very first teaching role. This early experience fueled her pursuit of higher education at Prairie View A & M University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education (1951-1955), followed by a Master of Science in Education in 1975.
Before dedicating over three decades to the Dallas Independent School District, where she served as both a substitute and permanent teacher, Doris Marie honed her skills in Milford and Royse City. For an impressive twenty-six years, she shaped young minds as a fifth-grade math teacher at John Neely Bryan, culminating in a distinguished career spanning more than thirty-two years in education.
Our goal
Our mission is to create scholarship opportunities in honor of individuals who have made a significant impact on our lives and provide financial support for undergraduate students attending college or trade school.
