Our story

Maureen was beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother who passed away on March 18, 2023. Maureen, a Registered Nurse herself, dedicated her entire life to helping and caring for others. Maureen graduated from the Mt Vernon Hospital School of Nursing in 1972 and dedicated nearly 30 years to Mt Vernon Hospital in positions ranging from Head Nurse of the Emergency Room to Director of Nursing, and ultimately Chief Operating Officer. She continued her dedication to Nursing at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY as the Director of Clinical Services where she spearheaded an Integrative Health Suite offering alternative therapies to Breast Cancer Patients, as well as creating the first Palliative Care Center in Putnam County. Maureen was passionate about improving quality of patient care, hospital standards and bringing innovative technology to nursing professionals. Maureen also loved her community, she volunteered with our local cancer care organization by driving patients to treatment appointments, supporting them throughout their journey, providing a compassionate shoulder when needed and shared her own story freely so they never felt alone. Please help us to continue Maureen's legacy and life-long passion for Nursing by supporting and fostering future generations of Nurses. With much love and appreciation, The Pace Family
