Mary Jane Sanders Memorial Scholarship Fund

We're starting this fund in memory of our mother, Mary Jane Sanders, who passed away from ALS. Our mom believed in the power of family, perseverance through adversity, and pursuing what makes you happy and fulfilled. Watching her navigate ALS with grace and strength—while our family faced the emotional and financial toll that comes with this disease—shaped who we are today. ALS doesn't just affect the person diagnosed. It impacts entire families. The cost of care can exceed $250,000 per year, and children often take on caregiving roles while trying to stay in school and build their futures. We want to help those students keep going. This fund will support the Mary Jane Sanders Memorial Scholarship, which awards $2,500 to undergraduate college students who have a parent diagnosed with or who has passed away from ALS. Our goal is to grow this fund over time so we can help more students and increase the award amount.
