Leonard M. Minus Memorial Scholarship Fund

Our father was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a prominent business owner for more than three decades, church leader, teacher, and mentor. The owner and operator of Jay Bee Radio on Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia from 1985 to 2019. Mr. Minus affectionately known as Jay Bee by friends and fellow business owners. He not only sold, installed, and repaired TV’s, sound systems, car radios, computers, and other electronics for 34 years, he collaborated with other entrepreneurs regarding neighborhood development and employed many young people in the city’s summer works program.

The mission of the Leonard M Minus memorial scholarship fund is to provide financial relief to students and their parents. Our father valued the importance of education, working hard and entrepreneurship. It is our desire to continue his legacy by encouraging and supporting others to continue your education, work hard and become your own boss!
