Our story
My mom graduated from Adelphi University in 1998, balancing the demands of being a single parent with the rigor of a nursing program. I watched her work tirelessly every day, not just to provide for me but also to achieve her nursing dreams. There are countless things I could say about my mom, but the two lessons she taught me that stand out most are:
1. Always finish what you start.
2. When emotions are high, logic is low.
She lived her life to help others, have fun, bring joy, and make sure everyone around her was cared for. While I might have encouraged her to take life a little less seriously at times, she was always focused on making the world better.
From being a dedicated Adelphi student to becoming a Director of Nursing, my mom had a calm tenacity that made her the rock for everyone around her. Whether it was her time, knowledge, or money, she always gave back when she could.
Through this scholarship, I want her to be remembered forever as the legend she truly was—someone who gave everything to her career, the world, and raising me. This fund will help others like her achieve their dreams and continue her legacy of compassion and strength.
Our goal
The mission of this scholarship is to honor my mother's legacy by supporting single-parent nursing students who are pursuing their dreams, just as she did. Each year, this fund will provide a scholarship to a student who embodies her determination and compassion. The scholarship will be awarded annually on her birthday, a fitting tribute to the incredible life she led.
