Legacy Forward Fund

For many Black borrowers, student loan debt can remain a financial burden long after earning a degree, making it harder to save, buy a home, build wealth, start a business, or simply gain greater financial flexibility. We are creating this fund to provide direct student loan repayment assistance to Black borrowers while building a community of people who believe education should help create opportunity, not stand in the way of it. For scholarship recipients, this fund can help: • Reduce outstanding student loan debt • Lower the financial pressure associated with repayment • Create more room to save, invest, purchase a home, pursue other financial goals, and increase their capacity to contribute to and invest in their communities • Accelerate progress toward greater financial stability and wealth-building For contributors, every gift is an opportunity to: • Strengthen our collective future by helping members of our community build greater financial stability and create more opportunities for generations to come • Help reduce a financial burden that can persist for decades and, for many borrowers, throughout much of their lifetime • Turn contributions of any size into collective impact • Be part of a community helping Black borrowers move from paying for their past education toward investing in their future Our initial crowdfunding campaign will provide the seed funding to launch the program, make our first awards, and begin building a sustainable source of student loan repayment assistance for years to come.
