Our goal
LaVelle McCoy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who was passionate about aviation and had a deep love for flying.
LaVelle learned to fly before he graduated high school and became a private pilot with his own aircraft. He credited a scholarship he received with giving him one of his passions, and his love of flying. He would have loved nothing more than to further his love of flying in another young aviator. With a growing shortage of pilots threatening the future of the field, it’s more important than ever to encourage the next generation.
This scholarship fund seeks to honor the memory of LaVelle McCoy by supporting high school, undergraduate, and graduate students from Arizona who are pursuing the aviation field.
