Our story

In 2023, Kendall Wayne Ross, a cherished Chef, friend, and husband, was tragically taken from the world by a drunk driver at the young age of 29. Despite this untimely loss, Kendall's impact remains profound. Known for his immediate warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication to personal growth, his vibrant energy continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Kendall's culinary journey started at Red Rocks Community College before going through an ACF-certified apprenticeship at the esteemed Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs. Despite encountering financial hurdles early in his career, Kendall's commitment to self-improvement and his innate capacity to uplift others distinguished him. His cooking adventures took him to honorable places like Restaurant Daniel, the Kimpton Tryon Park hotel, and exciting opportunities such as cooking for Ed Sheeran's World Tour, Rod Stewart's US Tour, and three Masters Tournaments. This was a true testament showcasing his exceptional talent and unwavering dedication to his craft.

Our goal

This fund is created in the honor of Chef Kendall Ross with the goal of supporting students going to culinary school. In tribute to Kendall Ross's enduring memory, this scholarship aims to empower aspiring chefs, perpetuating his legacy of excellence. Open to undergraduate students pursuing culinary arts through either culinary school or apprenticeships, applicants are invited to contemplate the significance of "iron sharpens iron" in their lives and aspirations. Our 2024-2025 scholarship winner is Shima Hojjati: https://bold.org/students/shima/. We were thrilled to be able to support her on her culinary journey, and excited to continue to impact students through this scholarship in 2025-2026.
