Karl L. Burnell Scholarship Fund

My father, Karl L. Burnell, Sr., suffered from Type II Diabetes for many years before his death. His disease resulted in complete vision loss in both of his eyes, a kidney transplant, and a leg amputation. This was in addition to many infections and surgeries. I understand the impact of Diabetes on a person, as well as their family members. I am therefore creating a scholarship that will be awarded to either college students diagnosed with Diabetes and/or students that are pursuing research on Diabetes. All contributions will help further the goal of awareness, prevention, and support for those with this disease.
