Joshua's Light Fund

I am creating the Joshua’s Light fund to give people a clear and responsible way to contribute to a scholarship that is already resonating with students and the broader community. Since launching the Joshua’s Light Suicide Awareness and Resilience Scholarship, I have received multiple requests from individuals who want to support and help grow the scholarship in Joshua’s name. Joshua’s Light was created in memory of my son, a Marine Corps veteran and student whose life reflects resilience, self-advocacy, and persistence while navigating mental health challenges. The scholarship supports underrepresented graduate students pursuing careers in mental health who are committed to suicide awareness, prevention, and service. The early submissions have been thoughtful and deeply moving, reinforcing the importance of this work and the need to expand its reach. The goal of this fund is to strengthen and grow Joshua’s Light in a way that is ethical, transparent, and sustainable. Creating a fund allows contributions to be stewarded thoughtfully, supports the ability to award additional scholarships over time, and ensures the initiative remains aligned with its purpose and with the broader mission of Solace Mind®.
