Our goal

The Jonny Jonathan Cardoso Barbosa Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Jonny, who tragically lost his life too soon to gun violence. Jonny was deeply passionate about family, community, and had a special love for children. This scholarship reflects his enduring commitment to uplifting and empowering young men in his community. Each year, the scholarship will provide financial support to a senior boy of color living in Boston as he pursues his future dreams, whether through college or trade school. We aim to carry forward Jonny's legacy by investing in young leaders who are driven to create positive change, just as he was.

We love you, Elizabeth. No amount of money can bring Jonny back, but we honor who he was and all the love you gave him, and we want to help make some good come of his loss. He is still with you and with us all.
