Our story

Jonathan Bell was a science teacher at Charles H. Milby High School, where he inspired generations of students. He was born in Pontiac, MI on March 2, 2055 to his parents, Arthur and Althea Bell, who were both educators. Jon obtained his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University where his interest was in the sciences: primarily biology and psychology.   After moving to Houston, Texas he realized he, too, had an interest in becoming an educator. He got his Master’s degree from the University of Houston in Education.  At Milby High School, Houston, Texas, he had the opportunity to write the curriculum for an advanced classes for Biology, Psychology and Sociology.  He had found his dream job:  getting to use his love of the sciences and teaching them in a classroom setting. Jonathan wanted students to be able to follow in his footsteps and satisfy their curiosity through the pursuit of knowledge. This scholarship seeks to honor the memory of Jonathan Bell by supporting students who share his interests in education and scientific fields.

Our goal

All proceeds from this fund will go towards the Jonathan Bell Memorial Scholarship, which will award seniors at Charles H. Milby High School in Houston, Texas, who are pursuing a degree in education, science, sociology, or psychology.
