Our story

My grandfather, Joe Gilroy, was a business man and a family man. He saw a need that could only be filled by people with a specific skillset and expert knowledge on certain machine parts needed in manufacturing. So, he started his own business, GoFast MCM, to utilize his mastery and control his own future. I vividly remember visiting his shop as a child. His ToDo lists in his shirt pocket, his paperwork, his plans, the smell of the machine shop, the break room, my grandmother working along his side, I can see and smell it all. He would show me the machines, the parts they made, and the designs for those parts. It inspired me to be just as organized and thoughtful about my work and my future. Additionally, as the patriarch of the family, he was a jokester, a fisherman, and a passionate storyteller.

Our goal

My grandfather's entrepreneurship inspired me to pursue my dreams and ambitions. His passing last year has now inspired me to use my resources to help others achieve their own goals. Education has played such an important part of my journey, along with my grandfather's motto "Plan Your Work, Work Your Plan". His daily checklist in his shirt pocket is a habit I picked up. Additionally, his ability to think through his plans to ensure success has been instilled in me. This fund would contribute to the scholarship my business, Smart Boy Studios, has started to help anyone pursuing their dreams. Financial standing can be a big roadblock for people looking for fulfillment, and we can make a difference.
