Linda Bauer, a long time friend, mentor and colleague had this to say when asked to share some of the special traits or qualities that made Jill stand out. Jill spent her life uplifting those who faced societal, financial, substance abuse, health, and personal obstacles that threatened to impede their educational progress. Jill stood shoulder to shoulder with each of her students as a Champion for them until she could stand back and let them step forward as a Champion in their own right. Then she stepped back and let them shine! It was a pleasure to watch!

Jillian Parent believed in the power of education to change lives and she dedicated her life as a teacher to coaching and advocating for students who faced a variety of obstacles on their paths to academic success. Jill's philanthropic focus is to assist students who are pursuing their education despite facing adversity.
