Our story

Jeannie was a highly intelligent vibrant person. She was a life-long learner and voracious reader. She was a gifted artist that shared all of her gifts with not only her friends and family but with those in need. She was active in her church and worked building affordable housing and helping refugees. She was passionate about social justice and research and advocated for women's rights, gun control and caring for the environment. She loved sparkle and making the world a more beautiful place that valued all humans equally. She wanted to change the world and we want to carry out her legacy through this scholarship by being the change in this world.

Our goal

This fund is to honor the memory of Jeannine Schroeder. She was passionate about education and social justice working in public service herself. We are looking to support the education of women interested in a career working on social justice issues of women's rights, gun control and the environment. We are looking for women interested in work in public service and non-profits.

Jeannie was the brightest part of my college years. Her intelligence, kindness, generosity, cheerfulness, laughter and delicious home cooked meals were legendary. My whole family was very blessed to have Jeannie in our lives.
