The Jeannette Kim F*ck Cancer Scholarship is a memorial scholarship to help Doctor of Pharmacy students who have had an experience with cancer, be it a friend, family member, or personal experience.
My mother Jeannette was the type of person you meet once in a lifetime. Beloved by everyone she met, she lit up a room whenever she went. She cared deeply and personally about everyone in her life. She was the type to remember your child's name and buy them her favorite children's book for you to read with them. The kind to put a spider in a cup and gingerly carry it outside because she couldn't bear to kill something that had fought so hard to live. The kind to cook you a homemade meal because she knew that your day was hard and she wanted to make it just a little easier in any way that she could.
Jeannette was diagnosed with cancer at age 53. Throughout her tireless fight with cancer, she continued to share her endless warmth, hope, and optimism everywhere she went. Even in her final moments, she gave everything she could to her children, her family, and her best friends. Her strength and determination were truly admirable.
This fund will be used to create a scholarship to honor Jeannette's memory and to help those who have had their own experience with cancer build their career in pharmacy.
