Our story

This scholarship was created in honor of Charmaine (Patsy) Roberts, a beloved mother, sister, aunt and wife! Our Mother immigrated from Guyana and became a nurse as an adult learner. Patsy had the will to make a better life, a passion for education and a heart of the people she served. Our mother loved being a nurse. In honor of her life and in memory of this amazingly brave, brilliant and beautiful woman we want to honor her memory with a scholarship. We know she would be pleased to help others reach their goal. This fundraiser will support the In My Mothers Name Scholarship by providing scholarships to students of Caribbean decent who are passionate about pursing nursing.

My Aunty Patsy was an amazing person who touched so many lives through her passion for nursing.She was often the go to person for any medical questions and she served as the best example for our family of what it took to complete a rigorous nursing program while working and raising a family. She was an inspiration and the epitome of kindness, compassion and unconditional love. May her memory and good deeds live on for all time. 🩷One Love always -Candy
