Our story

This scholarship is to honor Hunter Westphal, who was loved by so many. Hunter always had a smile and loved spending time with his friends and club brothers. In June of 2022 he was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. Hunter’s childhood was filled with challenges, losing his father to suicide and spending time in the foster care system. He overcame these struggles with hard work and setting high goals for himself. After graduating from Decatur High School in 2019, Hunter went on to pursue a career as a diesel mechanic by earning his certificate from Baker College.

Our goal

This scholarship fund will be used to help fund the Hunter Westphal Memorial Scholarship and support students pursuing a degree in mechanics.
