Hongo Scholarship Fund for Education

As a first-year teacher, I, Brandon Gomez, am proud to give back to the Springville-Mapleton community that shaped me. Growing up here, I was inspired by the students I tutored from Springville High School and Maple Mountain High School. Their impact on me, and mine on them, fostered a mutual growth and connection that earned us the nickname "The Hongos." The Hongo Scholarship of Education honors this connection. It is awarded annually to one senior from both Springville High School and Maple Mountain High School who demonstrates a commitment to growth, learning, and making a positive impact in their community. This scholarship is designed to help these students pursue college education, grow through new experiences, and continue the cycle of inspiring and being inspired. As a first-year teacher, I want to give back and help the community I grew up in.
