The story behind the HigherLearningPrep scholarship fund is rooted in my personal experience and passion for education and helping my community. Growing up in The Bronx, I witnessed firsthand the struggles that many faced in affording a college education. The financial obstacles often seem impossible , with high tuition costs and the burden of student loans weighing heavily on families.
When I went to college, I experienced these challenges myself. I realized that many students like myself lacked the financial education they needed to succeed. This realization inspired me to take action.
Driven by my desire to make a difference, I started my small business HigherLearningPrep, with a mission to guide students and families through the college planning process, reducing student debt and empowering them to make informed decisions about their education. However, I wanted to do even more. That's when the idea for the HigherLearningPrep Scholarship Fund was born.
The scholarship is my way of giving back to the community that shaped me. It is dedicated to students from the Bronx who have dreams of higher education but face financial barriers. By offering this scholarship, I hope to ease the burden for at least one student each year, helping them to focus on their studies and achieve their academic and career goals.
Ultimately, this fund is about more than just financial support- it is about investing in the future of the Bronx, and inspiring students to reach their full potential. My vision is to grow this scholarship in the coming years and continue to uplift students who will one day make a lasting impact on our community.
