The Hatcher–Dollarson Legacy Scholarship Fund was established by Y’ticcia Dollarson‑Williams to honor a powerful family tradition of service, education, and community uplift. Inspired by the lives of her mother, Ernestine Hatcher Dollarson, and her aunt, Alice Hatcher—both proud alumnae of Albany State University—this scholarship reflects a legacy much larger than two extraordinary women.
Multiple members of the Hatcher–Dollarson family graduated from Albany State University, creating a multigenerational lineage of educators, counselors, leaders, and servant‑hearted professionals. ASU shaped their values, strengthened their purpose, and prepared them to pour back into their communities.
Through Dollarson’s Den Counseling & Consulting, Y’ticcia sees how many students entering helping professions carry deep passion but face significant financial barriers. This scholarship was created to honor her family’s legacy while supporting the next generation of students called to serve in Education, Social Work, Counseling, and Human Services.
It stands as a tribute to her family, a celebration of their ASU roots, and a commitment to uplifting future servant leaders.
Their purpose matters. Their service matters. And they deserve support as they step into it.
