Our goal

Gwendolyn G. Smith entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 25, 2024 after a fierce battle with kidney cancer. She grew up in Suffolk, Virginia, graduating Suffolk High School in 1972. She was a devoted member of Saint Paul Baptist Church in Suffolk, where she lent her warmth and energy to the kitchen ministry, spreading love through service and hospitality. A proud Air Force Veteran, Gwendolyn served her country with honor and distinction, including during the pivotal Desert Storm operation. Her dedication, courage, and unwavering commitment to her fellow service members and her nation will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew her. This scholarship will be a way to honor and remember her legacy. During her time of hardship, all medical professionals that aided in her health and comfort did an amazing job. This scholarship is to help those seeking a degree in the medical field and have a heart for helping others. Gwendolyn left a lasting impact on all who were blessed to know her, she had a heart of gold. It would make her proud to know that others will be blessed in her name and honor.
