Fasiang Future of Flight Fund

My name is Hannah Fasiang, and I am proud to be a third-generation pilot. Aviation has always been a defining part of my life, but my journey of becoming a professional pilot was made possible by the generosity of others. As a high school senior, I was awarded a full-ride, merit-based scholarship that allowed me to attend any college of my choice. It was given to me with the hope that, one day, I would pay it forward. Now, as a professional pilot for a legacy U.S. airline, I am grateful for the opportunity to do just that. I established the Fasiang Future of Flight Scholarship to support the next generation of aspiring pilots - this fund will go directly toward increasing the number of recipients of this $1,000 scholarship. For many, the financial burden of flight training can be a major barrier to entry. This scholarship aims to ease that burden for students who have already demonstrated commitment by completing their private pilot check ride and are actively working toward a professional aviation career while giving back to their community. As a female pilot, I am especially interested in increasing the representation of women in aviation. Today, women make up less than 6% of airline pilots—a number that has changed little in the last 30 years. Progress has been slow, and I want to be part of the solution. That is why this scholarship gives preference to female applicants who not only have a passion for aviation but also a history of volunteerism and a dedication to paying it forward. My goal with the Fasiang Future of Flight Scholarship is to empower and support driven individuals—especially women—who are working toward a career in aviation. By investing in the next generation, I hope to create a ripple effect that will help move the industry forward and empower more women to pursue their dreams.
