Our story
On July 13th 2023, fifteen year old Ethan Joner passed away suddenly from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Ethan was known for his passion for helping others. Whether it was giving swimming lessons to younger children out of the kindness of his heart, nurturing foster kittens, or volunteering to be Santa Claus at his happy place, Folcroft Swim Club, Ethan’s generosity was boundless. Ethan wanted nothing more than to be a hero who left an impact on his community. To honor his generous legacy, Ethan’s family established the Ethan Joner Memorial Foundation.
Our goal
In the spirit of enriching the lives of children, the annual Ethan Joner Memorial Scholarship will provide a $2,700 scholarship to an Academy Park High School student who will continue their education via college, technical, or trade school. The ideal candidate will be a student who is committed to serving their community and who demonstrates what it means to be a kind, generous young adult.
