Our story

Jay believed that everyone should have a chance, regardless of their financial challenges. He believed hard work paid off in the end and in the importance of lending a helping hand to others in need. Jay overcame many obstacles throughout his life and did so with fierce determination. Jay would often accept small projects that were tedious or time consuming. He found pleasure in creating beauty in solidarity. Jay was beloved by all who knew him as dedicated, proud and driven.

Our goal

The Jay Curry Eternal Garden Scholarship is established in memory of a beloved friend, Jay, who passed at the age of 51 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Jay was devoted to his career in the facilities department at St. John's Prep and loved to create beautiful spaces. This scholarship will support a student with similar passions who may have overcome similar obstacles as Jay. Jay was known for his generosity and we hope to keep his generous spirit alive through this scholarship.
