Our story
Some may wonder why the scholarship is called Earnest Jane. We chose this name because both of our siblings, McKoy and Demi (Jane), embodied a deep, earnest love for life. McKoy was devoted to his passions—whether it was hunting, the outdoors or a love for his country. Demi shared that same earnest spirit, passionately advocating for the people and things that brought her joy, from family and sweet treats to fashion and all things that glittered. They loved fiercely and protected what mattered most to them, living boldly and freely. It’s our privilege to honor their legacy by helping others, reflecting the beautiful way they advocated for those around them.
Our goal
Hello our names are Raunie and Kody Bailey. Through each of us experiencing the loss of our own siblings to substance use disorder / suicide, the Earnest Jane scholarship aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens that can accompany higher education, enabling students to focus on their studies and personal growth after losing a loved one to said mental illnesses. We believe that education is a powerful tool for healing and empowerment, and we hope to foster resilience and success in those who have faced such heart-wrenching circumstances.
