Our story

Drake loved his family, his dogs, racing cars and his truck. His eyes and smile would light up every room he walked into it. Drake loved being on the racetrack. There was no other place he would rather be. He raced Legend cars and was an upcoming driver doing very well his last race season. Drake was an amazing son. He loved his mom and would do anything for her. He loved his grandparents and couldn’t wait to visit them in Florida several times a year. He wanted to go see them over any other vacation. He couldn’t wait to help his grandparents with home projects. It made his heart happy. He raced with his cousin and his uncle was his crew chief. He wanted to spend every weekend with them, along with his other race teammates. Drake was a good friend to so many of his classmates. He was loyal and dependable. He loved his friends and would have been there for them if they needed him. He is missed every minute of every day and will always be loved and remembered.

Our goal

This fund is in memory of my son, Drake Wood. Forever 16. This amazing young man took his own life. Suicide awareness among young adults and students is very important to hopefully prevent other families from going through a loss that shatters their lives forever. We can’t bring Drake back, but we want to prevent this type of heartbreak for other families.
