Dr. Matthew J. Kauffman Memorial Scholarship Fund

Matthew Kauffman was a beloved doctor who valued learning throughout his professional studies, and continued to study medicine long after establishing a successful career. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother and son, and an active community member. Matt grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where he played football and ran track at school, and would later raise five children with his wife Tera, who was also a healthcare worker. Matt was well known for his sense of humor, culinary skills, and love of family and friends.

Matthew J. Kauffman was a dedicated Orthopedic Surgeon who stayed loyal to his Ohio roots and touched thousands of patients and tens of thousands of family members over the course of his 20+ year career. He was taken from us far too early. His family’s wish is to create a memorial fund to honor his mission and enable other like-minded aspiring medical students from the state of Ohio. This fund will help give access to additional financial aid as medical school is expensive and access to funds can be difficult and the process can be lengthy.
