Our story

Doris Nicole Woodhouse brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She graduated as salutatorian from Bayside High School's Health Sciences Academy. Nicole continued her pursuit of knowledge, earning a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and obtaining her master’s degree from Baylor University. Nicole's passion for helping others, particularly children, led her to a fulfilling career as a school psychologist. She made a profound impact on countless young lives. Nicole's compassionate spirit and selflessness endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Outside of her professional endeavors, Nicole devoted herself to various philanthropic causes, such as volunteering at the food bank during high school and with Little Pink Houses of Hope as an adult. In her leisure time, Nicole found solace in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader and published writer, a nurturing gardener, and a talented cook. Nicole enjoyed traveling, binge-watching historical dramas, and trying out new restaurants.

Our goal

This memorial scholarship is in honor of Doris Nicole Woodhouse, who lost her battle to breast cancer at the young age of 32. Nicole's passion for helping others, particularly children, led her to a fulfilling career as a school psychologist. She made a profound impact on countless young lives. This annual scholarship in her name will support a high school graduate to pursue an undergraduate degree in K-12 education and or child psychology.

May this scholarship continue to bless others in their journey of service in these fields of study - just as Nicole has blessed our lives, and the lives of her students and colleagues so richly and deeply.
