Our goal

The Dick Loges Veteran Entrepreneur Fund was established to honor the legacy of Dick Loges, a beloved grandfather of Rod Loges, co-founder of One Degree Financial. Dick was a veteran who, like many who serve our country, transitioned into entrepreneurship after his military service. This fund is a tribute to his memory and to all veterans who continue to serve their communities through business ownership and innovation. Veteran entrepreneurs embody a unique blend of resilience, leadership, and ambition that they carry from their military service into the business world. Many veterans have built successful businesses, providing for their families while creating opportunities in their communities. We recognize that the children of these veteran entrepreneurs often inherit these same qualities and face their unique challenges. We want to support these students pursuing higher education or vocational training. Our goal with the Dick Loges Veteran Entrepreneur Fund is to help these students achieve their educational and professional dreams by providing financial assistance that allows them to focus on their studies and future careers. By supporting these students, we hope to not only honor their parents’ service and entrepreneurial journey but also help shape the next generation of leaders and innovators. This fund will provide scholarships to high school seniors, undergraduate students, or those pursuing trade school who are the children of veteran entrepreneurs. Applicants will be asked to share how their parent’s entrepreneurial journey and military service have influenced their educational and career goals. We will be looking for students who demonstrate ambition, determination, and the potential to make a meaningful impact in their chosen fields. Through this scholarship, we aim to make a lasting contribution to the lives of veteran families and empower the next generation to continue pursuing the values of hard work, resilience, and innovation.
