Devin T. Barksdale Memorial Fund

My name is Amarea Collins, and I wanted to start this fund in honor of my late loved one Devin T. Barksdale. Devin was a student athlete who loved basketball, his family, and his academics. His life was cut short due to gun violence in the surrounding area he lived in. Devin passed right before the ending of our senior year, he didn’t have prom, he didn’t get to walk across the stage, but he put the work in. I’d like to use this fund to give children like Devin an opportunity to make things easier financially so they know there’s a way out of an impoverished community, and in honor of him as he had also wish to pursue a higher education.
