Our story

Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather Dennis, age 86, passed away on September 24, 2023, surrounded by his family. Dennis was born in England and came to America by boat in the early 1940s when he was just a young boy. His arrival was considered a miracle, as the boat behind him was sunk by Nazi U-boats at the time. In his career, he was a forward-thinking leader, brilliant inventor, and dedicated business owner alongside some of his dearest friends. He helped found Rentech, owned many patents, and was featured in prominent interviews to speak on his work. He cared about what it takes to keep progress moving and was the type to watch people sneak past the ticket taker in a movie theatre and buy their tickets. He never wanted to take something from “... the little old lady who owns stock in the theatre company.” In his life, Dennis loved having his family over to visit, especially for the holidays. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Sergius O. Yakobson, his mother, Lubin Yakobson, stepmother Helen Bates-Yakobson, and stepsister Natasha Reatig. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Anselmo, whom he treasured and adored, along with their 9 children, 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Our goal

I worked with Dennis for over 40 years collaborating on projects from GTL to Coal and Biomass briquetting. During that time the companies created over 30 patents related to these technologies. Dennis and I shared the passion to make the world a better place by providing others technology and and useable products for all to use. This grant though small will entitle someone to continue to their education and allow themselves to make the world also a better place.
