Our story
Prince Albert Hearns Jr. passed away on Easter Sunday 2024 at the age of eighty. He left behind a wife, Ophelia Hearns and four children, Frederick Lee Blakley (deceased), Peter Alexander Hearns, Christian Hearns, and Ariana Sharp.
Prince Albert Hearns, Jr. was born October 13, 1943, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. After graduating from High School, he enrolled at Jarvis Christian College and graduated on August 8, 1967, with a degree in Biology and a minor in Human Performance.
After graduation from college, he was drafted into the Army in 1967. While in the Army, he served as a Medical Specialist in Vietnam from March 1968-March 1969. He received the Vietnam Service Campaign Medal. He was also recognized as a Sharpshooter with the M-14, and as an Expert with the M-16. After serving the country that he loved so much and completing his time in the Army, he was honorably discharged.
Deacon Hearns’ permanent employment included working in food services for the Dallas Independent School District (ISD) and Fort Worth ISD.
Deacon Hearns was an honest, good, and dedicated Christian man. He was a veteran. Not only a war hero, but a hero to his friends and family. He was known as “The Prayer Warrior,” to his family, friends, and fellow church members. He spent 43 years serving his church and community.
Our goal
The fund was created to honor Deacon Prince Albert Hearns Jr., by providing support to high school seniors that will help remove financial barriers and create a lasting educational impact. This memorial scholarship fund will continue to spread his love, grace, and compassion to the next generation.
