Change of Heart Scholarship Fund

In 2025, I founded the CHANGE OF HEART AWARD SCHOLARSHIP in honor of her favorite high school teacher Kelly Corrigan (aka Ms. Webster) and the program she led at my school (Robert Service High School) called The Change of Heart Program. This program through the leadership of Ms. Webster trained students to become school-based leaders that promoted inclusivity and positive peer relationships.  This experience and many others from my high school to collegiate life, changed my heart to want to give and serve others as a life-long calling. Based on how my mentors and school communities showed up for me and poured into me so I could flourish, build life skills, and meet my goals, I believe this scholarship is just one way I can pay it forward.  Now, 20 years later and after 15+ years in education, I want to pour into the next generation of scholars as they pursue college degrees, trade schools and other professional pathways. In 25-26, we gave (2) scholarships of $700 each due to generous donations. My goal is to increase the number of scholarships every year with the goal of 26-27, having a goal of (4) scholarships. I hope other adults & organizations will open their hearts and join me in a collective effort to support other scholars and show them there are caring community members willing to assist with their academic and professional dreams. I, Dr. Jessica Reed-Thomas; as the scholarship founder, send gratitude to all that find it in their hearts to give and support the scholarship fund, but most importantly invest in our future generations.
